TABUNG BAITULMAL SARAWAK (TBS) STRENGTHENS SUSTAINABILITY AGENDA THROUGH BENCHMARKING VISIT TO CENTRE FOR GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY STUDIES (CGSS), UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA.
USM, PULAU PINANG, 26 August 2026 – The Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), welcomed a delegation visit from Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS), comprising members of its senior management. The visit aimed to enhanced understanding and strengthen the implementation of the sustainability agenda within the organization.
The programme commenced with a sharing session by Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Wira Mohd Shafiei, Director of CGSS, who presented on the implementation and governance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and practices. The session continued with Associate Professor Dr. Aziah Ismail from the School of Educational Studies, who shared her experiences in preparing submissions for and participating in the Malaysia Global Sustainability Award (MGSA).
The visit reflects TBS's commitment to strengthening governance practices and advancing sustainable development in line with its organisational aspirations.
CGSS greatly appreciates this visit and hopes that it will serves as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, the sharing of best practices, and the strengthening of collaborative networks between USM and Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak in advancing the sustainability agenda.
