CGSS GOTONG-ROYONG 2026: A PROACTIVE STEP TOWARDS ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs)
UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA (USM), PENANG, 26 June 2026 – In line with the university’s sustainability agenda and in conjunction with Universiti Sains Malaysia’s (USM) Sustainability Month celebration 2026, the Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS), has successfully organised the “Program Gotong-Royong CGSS” under the theme “Kebersihan Tanggungjawab Bersama”.
This programme is an initiative of the CGSS Sustainability Subcommittee as part of an ongoing effort to improve the cleanliness, safety and tidiness of the organisation within and around the CGSS building. This initiative aims to create a cleaner, tidier, safer, more pleasant and conducive working environment for all. Through this programme, CGSS has contributed directly and indirectly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
The active participation of CGSS members, including staff and industrial training students, demonstrates that concerted efforts and cooperation among all members can have a significant positive impact on environmental sustainability and public well-being.
CGSS expresses its highest appreciation to all participants for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to ensuring that the environment always remains clean, green and sustainable.
